2011 Texas Tobacco-Free Kids Day


San Angelo, TX - Students from San Angelo ISD participated in the 2011 Tobacco-Free Kids Day art contest sponsored by the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley- Prevention R.O.C.K.S. Team!   This year's theme was "Me Smoking? You Must Be Joking!"

The art contest was open to 2nd grade, and 6th-12th grade students receiving tobacco prevention education. Students from SAISD completed a coloring page or designed anti-tobacco posters to show their understanding of the health risks of smoking and smokeless tobacco and their commitment to be tobacco-free kids!

The winners are:
2nd grade level:
1st- Addie Grace Etier, Glenmore Elementary, 2nd grade
2nd -MacKenzie Ann Walker, Bonham Elementary, 2nd grade

6th-12th grade level:
1st- Dustin Nelson, Lee Middle School, 6th grade
Runner-up- Albert Garcia, Lee Middle School, 6th grade
Runner-up- Jewell Porrier, Lee Middle School, 6th grade

Tobacco-Free Kids Day is Wednesday, March 23, 2011- look for our contest entries at Sunset Mall this week!
